Gastric Stump Carcinoma


Abstract
Patients treated with partial gastrectomy for being conditions has revealed that they have increased risk to develop gastric cancer. Cancer of the gastric remnant, once thought to be rare, is recognized with increasing frequency in recent years.
An association between Nitrite, Nitrosamines, and gastric cancer has been made in epidemiologic study but exact cause of the increasing incidence of remnant cancer is unknown. Although many cases have been reported from Europe and Scandinavia, a few cases have been reported in Korea.
In this review, the recent advances in Gastric stump carcinoma are summarized.
